Frequently asked questions
This is where you can find answers to the most common questions about PetPro and our service.
Setting up a new account
You will first need to setup the admin account(s). If you have any questions about this step or need help with your new account, please refer to the Pet Professional User Guide, located in the Quick Links section of the admin view.
Accessing a new account
If you have your company web site hosted with us:

- employee: www.yourdomain.com/employee
- client: from link on yourdomain.com
What is a secure certificate?
A secure certificate is used when completing online/e-commerce transactions. By default, all transactions in pet professional are used using the PetPro secure certificate. If you wish to purchase your own you may do so by contacting us directly.
What is a merchant account?
A merchant account is a necessary component of accepting online credit card payments. TFG Brands has a partnership with Authorize.Net and Wells Fargo to provide this service. The account collects your transactions and automatically deposits the funds (in batch) to your checking account. To learn how to setup your own merchant account, please click the "Merchant Account Setup" link, located in the "Quick Links" section of the admin view.
How do I test my merchant account?
Setup an invoice for a client and make sure to mark it w/ a status of "outstanding" (note: this will change automatically when the payment is made).
Then login as the client, and click on "view/pay bill". Then click on the "Pay Now" button next to the outstanding invoice (note: this button will only appear next to invoices marked as "outstanding").
Fill in the credit card info using the following:
- Card: Visa
- Card #: 4111111111111111
- Exp Date: at least a 1 year ahead of current date
- Sec Code: 123
This will allow you to go through the full process of paying an invoice, or purchasing a prepaid item.
Does the demo look like the full version?
The demo version has a few of the features turned off. The other difference is the way clients, employees, and administrator access the different views (see "How to access pet professional account")
How do I upload a new picture?
The file size works best when it’s about 200 by 200 (in pixels)… this translates to about 2.75 W by 2.75 H inches. If one has to be larger (so the image doesn’t get distorted) it’s best to keep the width around 2.75 inches and the height larger. Please note that the file must be in .jpg or .jpeg format. Any photo software can do both of these… including MS Paint (which comes on every PC).
- To change the picture:
- Click “Upload Picture” link
- Click the “Browse” button
- Locate the picture (*** must be a “.jpg or .jepg” file type ***) and click on it once; then click “Open”. Note: you can also double click on image (it will do the same thing as clicking once and then hitting “open”)
- Click the “Upload Picture” button
- You have now successfully uploaded a new picture.
Note: you will have to log out and then log back in before you will see the new picture, or click the “F5” key on your keyboard… this will refresh screen. To make 100% sure of the change, I would suggest logging out and then back in.
What are service page definitions?
- Schedule Color: The color that will be used for the background in the schedule.
- Price: Base price for service.
- Prepaid: Allows users to purchase this service in advance, and the system will manage the balance (i.e. when marked completed, it will subtract from the available balance for that service). Note: A prepaid service requires you to set up block purchase amounts/discounts in the "Prepaid Rates" section.
- Schedule: Allows users to directly schedule the service in their schedule. Turn this feature off if you do not wish for the client to have the ability to directly schedule this service.
- Request: Allows users to make a schedule request for the service type. The schedule requests come as an e-mail. Note: If you have the schedule and request feature turned off, the client will have read only access to their schedules.
- Timesheet: When turned on, this adds the service type to the timesheet report.
What are name servers?
If you're switching your company web site hosting to TFG Brands, you will need to transfer the name server addresses to ours. Please use the following: Primary: ns.dpnd.net Secondary: ns2.dpnd.net
Why isn't the "Mark Completed" service working?
When you click the "Mark Completed" button it pulls up a pop-up window to complete the task. If you have a pop-up blocker it will not work. Adjust the settings in your pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from Petprosoftware.net.
